Kyajo Ri Peak Climbing is an adventure peak climbing in the Everest region. This peak climbing begins after a 30-minute flight from Kathmandu Valley toward Lukla. Lukla is the starting point of every trek in the Everest region. After reaching Lukla, we will start our first walking trip toward Phakding. On this peak climbing, we get a chance to explore beautiful Sherpa land which is Namche Bazaae, Tengboche, Dingboche, Mende, and many other beautiful villages on this route.
Not only the village but also get a chance to see mesmerizing views of the mountain like Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and many other peaks. On this trek, we also get a chance to explore the glacial lake in the shadow of Kyajo Ri. Also, get a chance to cross the suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River valley. The difficulty of this trek depends on the person and the most difficult part of this trekking is that there are a lot of hills which is very challenging compared to other uphill climbs. While trekking or peak climbing at a high altitude the major problem is altitude sickness. At a high altitude, the difficulty we have to face is the duration of trekking, weather and temperature, altitude sickness, and many other problems that we have to face on peak climbing.
Equipment is the most important thing that you have to pack before embarking on trekking. Without any gear, climbing is beyond possible. Peak climbing is generally straightforward with fixed ropes and guided climbs and while climbing on then you have to choose the right gear to make your journey more comfortable and easy. Some of the important gears which are needed for this peak climbing are crampons, ice hammers, hamlets, ascenders, descenders, ice screws, ice axe, mountaineering boots, ropes, tape slings, harnesses, and carabineers.
These gear are only for climbing, you also have to pack clothing, medicine, and toiletries which are a sun hat, scarf, sunglasses, headlight, ski goggles, trekking pole, thick and windproof gloves, Windproof and down jacket, hiking shorts, and trousers, anti-altitude sickness pill, personal first aid kit, blister repair kit, anti-diarrhea pills, hand wipes and tissue paper, body moisturizer, nail cutter, towel, hand wash, and sanitizer.
Upon landing at the international airport of Nepal, you will see our staff pick you up from the airport. From the airport, you will drop by the hotel in Thamel where you will spend the overnight here.
The guide will be in the hotel where you spend overnight to take you towards the domestic airport at Kathmandu valley. After 30 minutes scenic flight from Kathmandu valley, we will reach Lukla which is the gateway of every trekking destination of the Everest region. From Lukla, our first-day walking trek starts towards Phakding.
On the second day of Kyajo Ri Peak Climbing starts to move towards Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the biggest Sherpa land in Nepal where you will get an opportunity to know about Sherpa culture and tradition. The distance from Phakding to Namche is 7.4 kilometers which takes 5 to 6 hours. And in this time duration, you will cross Hillary suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi and finally reach Namche Bazaar.
From Namche Bazaar, we will move toward Thame and Thame is the end valley of the Khumbu valley. On the way, we will pass through a dense forest, Chortens, and Mani stone. It takes almost 4 hours to reach Thame from Namche Bazaar and going to spend overnight.
The trail follows an almost steady level with a beautiful village and mesmerizing views of the Himalayas where the trail is an upward slope. After spending overnight in the beautiful Sherpa land Thame, we will move towards Mende. From Thame, it takes almost 5 hours to reach Mende and going to spend overnight.
We follow a black-out yak trail up over a few goes to enter this beautiful peak. On the way to this peak base camp, we get a mesmerizing view of the mountain like Thamserku, Khumbila, Pachharmo, Kwangde, and other beautiful mountains on this route.
On this day, we don’t start our trekking because on this day we take a rest. Today, we will prepare for climbing and prepare all the gear which is needed for this peak climbing. After preparing all the gear, we will walk around the Base Camp and spend overnight in this beautiful land.
From Base Camp, we will slowly move towards Camp. The trail begins with hiking over a grassy spur and boulder where the trail follows an upward rocky section. On the way to Camp I, we get a mesmerizing view of a mountain with natural scenery.
On the 9th day of Kyajo Ri Peak climbing, we will move toward Camp II from Camp I. this route lies near the glacier and has sufficient place for camping and we will pitch our camp near a big glacier lake. From Camp I, it takes almost 4 to 5 hours to reach Camp II and going to spend overnight in Camp II.
We start our trekking at 3 am early in the morning. Today, we will summit Kyajo Ri Peak. There is one short stone segment however essentially the climbing is on snow and ice and the ground steepens and we climb on the southwest ridge. After summiting this peak, we will back to Camp I where we going to spend overnight here.
The trek will be relatively easier on the summit day because, on this day, we will be back at Base Camp. The trail will descend to the base camp and praise the effective fulfillment of the trek. From Camp I, to reach Base Camp it take almost 4 to 5 hours. In the base camp, we are going to spend overnight.
The trail is shallower through alpine meadows walking down to the valley. On the way, you will get a chance to the lush green forest of rhododendron and pine. From Base Camp, it takes almost 5 to 6 hours to reach Namche Bazaar the biggest Sherpa land in Nepal. We are going to spend overnight on this beautiful Sherpa land.
The trail gently descends through the Hillary suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi and then our treks slowly descend the beautiful village of Monjo. On this trek, we will pass through many suspension bridges, natural scenery, and pass through many Rhododendrons and pine forests.
Early in the morning after having breakfast, we will walk towards the domestic airport of Lukla and get ready to fly towards Kathmandu valley. After reach in Kathmandu valley, get to explore Kathmandu valley. This day will the last day in Nepal and at Night time we will walk around Thamel which is very much beautiful at night.
Today is the last day in Nepal. The guide will be in the hotel where you spend the overnight and the guide will take you to the international airport to see you off and hope you will give an opportunity to serve you again.
