Transportation for Everest Chola Pass Trek

In the context of Nepal, there are two modes of transportation. For Everest Chola Pass Trek, we need to take a private jeep towards Manthali, and from Manthali; we will take a flight towards Lukla. Every trekking destination in the Everest region starts from Lukla so this beautiful trekking also starts from here. After landing in Lukla, we have mesmerizing views of the mountain with natural scenery. From Lukla, we start our first-day walking trek from Lukla to Phakding. On the way, we also get a chance to see mesmerizing mountain views with natural landscapes. During this trekking period, we also get a chance to explore beautiful Sherpa land where you get a chance to learn about the culture and tradition at Namche Bazaar. While embarking on this trek we get an opportunity to explore so many small villages like Dingboche, Tengboche, Chhukung, Lobuche, and many other beautiful villages.

On the way to this beautiful pass, you will get a chance to see or explore the biggest and oldest Tengboche monastery in Tengboche. Not only did that but also got to explore the biggest Sagarmatha National Park which is situated on the lap of Mt Everest. From Kala Patthar, we get mesmerizing sunrise views from Mt Everest.

Details Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu Valley and Transfer to Hotel

    Upon landing at the international airport of Nepal, you will see our staff pick you up from the airport. From the airport, you will drop by the hotel in Thamel where you will spend the overnight here.

  • Day 02: Fly towards Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610m.) 3-4 hours

    The normal flight is from Kathmandu to Lukla in 30 minutes. but the Main season is October to November and March to May. At midnight, we will start our journey toward Manthali. We will take a private jeep to reach Manthali which takes almost 4 to 5 hours to reach manthali from Kathmandu. From Manthali, it takes almost 20 minutes to reach Lukla and in Lukla, we will have our breakfast. And from Lukla, the first day of a walking trek of this trek begins. Walking 3 to 4 hours from Lukla, you will reach Phakding and from Lukla to Phakding, you will have an opportunity to see mesmerizing views of the mountain, cross suspension bridges, and many more.

  • Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3441m) 5-6 hours

    This is the second day trekking for Everest Chola Pass Trek where we will walk from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the biggest Sherpa land in Nepal where you will get an opportunity to know about Sherpa culture and tradition. The distance from Phakding to Namche is 7.4 kilometers which take 5 to 6 hours. And in this time duration, you will cross Hillary suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi and finally reach Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 04: Rest Day in Namche bazaar

    It is the first rest day of the Everest Chola Pass Trek at Namche Bazaar. From here, you will get mesmerizing views of the mountain like Mt Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and many other mountains in this region. At Namche Bazaar, we get a chance to explore the Sherpa Museum where you will see the tradition and culture of the Sherpa people.

  • Day 05: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m) – 5 Hours

    After spending a whole day in Namche Bazaar, we will slowly walk towards Tengboche. From Namche Bazaar, it takes almost 6 to 7 hours to reach Tengboche. And from here, you will get a mesmerizing view of the mountain Ama Dablam. On this trekking day, you will have an opportunity to visit one of the biggest monasteries of the Everest region which is Tengboche Monastery.

  • Day 06: Tengboche to Dingboche (4360m) – 4 Hours

    The trail is very scenic but also quite challenging. The place has the best view of the towering Ama Dablam in the background and the view from here spectacular and dramatic.  It takes 5 hours to reach Dingboche from Tengboche where you get mesmerizing views of mountains and beautiful natural landscapes.

  • Day 07: Hike to Chhukung Valley (4710m) and return back to Dingboche – 4 Hours

    Today is the second-day rest of the Everest Chola Pass Trek at Dingboche. At Dingboche, there are several options available for short hikes today and in high altitudes, trekker success depends upon exquisite planning and expert trekking advice. You can have a peaceful time at the Inja River Flow on the eastern side of the valley.

  • Day 08: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m) – 5 Hours

    Our trail to Lobuche is snow-covered for most of the section after Thonka and the trail goes up to the drain of the Khumbu region. The path mounts up to Khumbu Glacier and almost half of the climb to the moraine is Dughla.

  • Day 09: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5365m) and back to Gorakshep – 8 Hours

    Today in the morning, we will walk towards Gorak Shep. It takes almost 2 to 3 hours to reach Gorak Sherpa from Lobuche. And after reach in Gorak Shep, we will hike up to the Everest Base Camp. Today is the most exciting day of this trekking where the trail is rugged and on the moraine. After hiking in EBC, we will back to Gorak Shep where we will spend the overnight.

  • Day 10: Gorak Shep to Kalapathar and Trek to Dzongla (4800m.) 7-8 hrs

    Early in the morning, we will hike up towards Kala Patthar which is just 2 hour hike up from Gorak Shep. In the Kala Patthar, we will get a mesmerizing view of sunrise views from Mt Everest. The trails are quite challenging but also get a chance to see a wonderful view of a mountain like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and many other beautiful peaks. After awesome sunrise views at Kala Patthar, we will back towards Gorak Shep and have our breakfast and slowly walk towards Dzongla.

  • Day 11: Dzongla to Thangnak Via (5420m.) Chola Pass (4700m.) 7-8 hours

    Cross over a small crest from Dzongla and descend slightly into a wide valley and cross stream to work your way up to the head of the valley. The pass is not itself difficult but it is steep and involves a glacier traveler on the eastern side where the trail climbs through a narrow valley. The trail descends steeply towards Thangnak where we will pass through a pine forest after crossing Cho La Pass.

  • Day 12: Thangnak to Gokyo (4750m.) 3-4 hours

    After crossing Ngozumpa Glacier on a sandy shifting trail and cross the second lake and after crossing the second lake, we will reach Gokyo Ri. The trail is easier over a flat path following the Dudh Koshi River up to Gokyo which is a windy valley situated near the third lake.

  • Day 13: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5356m) 2 hour and Trek to Machhermo (4470m.) 5 hours

    Today, we will climb up to the Gokyo Ri which is above the village on the northern side of the lake where you get mesmerizing views of the mountain like Mt Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. Before reaching Machhermo, we follow the Dudh Koshi River where we will see a large yak pasture here.

  • Day 14: Machhermo to Namche Bazaar 6 hours

    The trail drops down to Phortse Tenga through the beautiful rhododendron forest. During the time of this day trekking, we will pass through the rhododendron and pine forest. On the way to Namche Bazaar from Machhermo, we will get a mesmerizing view of Mt Ama Dablam.

  • Day 15: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2850m.) 6-7 hours

    Today is the last day walking trekking of this beautiful trekking where we gently descend through the Hillary suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi and then our treks slowly descend the beautiful village of Monjo. On this trek, we will pass through many suspension bridges, and natural scenery, and pass through many Rhododendrons and pine forests.

  • Day 16: Fly back to Kathmandu (1400m) 30 Minutes fly

    Early in the morning after having breakfast, we will walk towards the domestic airport of Lukla and get ready to fly towards Kathmandu valley. After reach in Kathmandu valley, get to explore Kathmandu valley.
