Helambu Circuit Trek is an easy, natural, and geographically fascinating trek in the Langtang region. It is a pleasant trek in the Langtang region which is home to the Hyolmo people. While trekking on this route, we will get a chance to see mesmerizing views of the mountain, beautiful landscapes, dense forests, and Tibetan culture. It is a relatively low-altitude trek along a less busy trekking route where we will pass through dense forests, green valleys, beautiful villages, and Buddhist monasteries. The trek is considered to be moderate which is just 26 kilometers from Kathmandu valley. On this trek, we get to know about the culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the Tamang and Sherpa people who are the local inhabitants.

Language, Culture, and Sacred Heritage

In the context of Nepal, there are almost 123 major languages and 125 ethnic groups’ cultures. Most people speak their language and follow their own cultures according to the regions. In the Langtang region, most of the people are influenced by Tibetan Buddhism, and some of the people used to speak the Tibetan language. People of the Helambu region; speak the Yolmo Language which is close to the Tibetan Language and this Yolmo Language belongs to the Tibetan Burman language group. Some of the people on this route speak the Sherpa and Tamang languages too.

In the Helambu Circuit Trek, we get a chance to explore so many Buddhist monasteries. This beautiful trek is an ideal short trek near the Kathmandu valley. Helambu Circuit Trek Route

The Helambu Circuit trek is one of the shortest and easiest trekking in the Langtang region. This beautiful trekking starts from Sundrijal after a 1-hour drive from Kathmandu Valley and from Sundrijal, we will move toward Chisopani. Sundrijal is the starting point of this trekking. While trekking on this route, we get a chance to explore the beautiful village of this wonderful land. Villages like Khutumsang, Tharepati, Tarke Ghyang, and Sermanthang can be explored on this trek. We also get a chance to see mesmerizing views of the mountain Gaurishanker, Langtang, and Ganesh Himalayan ranges. On this trek, we get a chance to learn about the culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the Yolmo people. Most people of this route are influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. On the way to this beautiful trek, we get an opportunity to explore Shivapuri National Park.

Best time to trek Helambu Circuit Trek

There are almost four seasons in Nepal and all the seasons are perfect for trekking in this wonderful land. But autumn ad spring are considered the best seasons for trekking in the Helambu Circuit trek. This season is perfect because in this season the weather and temperature are not too cold or too hot. While trekking this season, we get a mesmerizing view of the mountain with beautiful natural scenery. We also get a chance to pass through a dense forest of rhododendrons with white, red, and pink colors this season. While trekking on this route, you can trek in the winter and summer seasons too. But in this season, you will not get a chance to see mesmerizing views of a mountain because there will be fog everywhere and the route becomes more muddy and slippery and becomes more challenging for trekkers.

Details Itinerary

• Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu valley

  After landing at the international airport of Nepal, you will see our staff pick you up from the airport. From the airport, you will drop by the hotel in Thamel where you will spend the overnight here.

• Day 02: Scenic drive Sundrijal and trek to Chisopani

  Early in the morning after having a hot breakfast, we will take a 1 hour drive toward Sundrijal. On this day trek, we get a chance to explore beautiful Shivapuri Nationa Park. After 1 hour drive from Kathmandu valley, we will reach Sundrijal and from here we will trek toward Chisopani. On the way, we will pass through a dense forest of rhododendron and bamboo.

• Day 03: Chispani to Khutumsang

  Along the trail pass through the green hill and the trail passes through a dense forest of rhododendron and pine forest. We will cross over the river and enter the mystical oak and rhododendron forest. It takes almost 5 to 6 hours to reach Kutumsang from Chisopani and going to spend overnight here.

• Day 04: Khutumsang to Tharepati

  We head north to get beautiful views of snowy peaks ahead and climb above the rhododendron forest. It is one of the best ridges walks among all treks in Nepal. From Khutumsang, it takes almost 6 hours to reach Tharepati, and going to spend overnight here.

• Day 05: Tharepati to Tarke Ghyang

  This day trek will be an interesting where we get a chance to observe different culture and lifestyle. On this day of trekking, we will pass through a beautiful village with sacred Buddhist stupas, shrines, and monasteries visited by Guru Rinpoche. After 5 hours of walking from Tharepati, we will reach Tarke Ghyang where we going to spend overnight.

• Day 06: Tarke Ghyang to Sermanthang and drive back to Kathmandu valley

  From Tarke Ghyang, we will slowly walk toward Sermanthang. On this day of trekking, we will get a chance to enter Shivapuri National park. After 5 hours of walking, we will reach Sermanthang and from Sermanthang, we will take a bus to move toward Kathmandu valley. In the evening time, you can walk around Thamel Bazaar which will become more beautiful at night time.

• Day 07: Final International departure

  This is the last day in Nepal for you. The guide will be in the hotel where you spend the overnight and the guide will take you to the international airport to see you off and hope you will give an opportunity to serve you again in the high Himalayas of Nepal.
