This peak climbing is quite challenging and adventurous peak climbing which offers a mesmerizing view of Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and many more. Accommodation and meal
Peak climbing is very much difficult and while doing this peak climbing, you have to take a rest as much as you can. For taking rest, there will be small hotels or tea houses all over the Everest region. A tea house is a small restaurant on the way and there are lots of tea houses built for your comfort in the high Himalayan land, you need proper rest before trekking. The tea house has a small room with two small beds, pillows, mattresses, bed sheets, and other useful furniture. The tea house is warm, and comfortable, and provides all the basic services and there is no problem with accommodation facilities on this trek.
For the food, most of the tea houses provide typical Nepalese food because while this peak climbing you need more energy, and Nepalese provide all the energy you need. Some of the tea houses provide Western cuisine too but it will become a little bit expensive and the thing will take through the airway because only the means of transportation for this peak climbing is the airway.
Island Peak Climbing without EBC route
Island peak climbing is one of the most adventurous peak climbing of the Everest region with a mesmerizing view of the mountain and natural scenery. This adventurous and challenging begins after a 30-minute flight from Kathmandu Valley toward Lukla. From Lukla, we will slowly walk toward Phakdhing on the same day when we reach Lukla. On this peak climbing, we get a chance to explore beautiful villages of the Khumbu region which are Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and many other beautiful villages of this route. We also get a chance to learn about the culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the rural Himalayan people. At Tengboche, we get a chance to visit the biggest monastery in the Khumbu region.
During this peak climbing, we will visit Sagarmatha National Park which is situated at the highest land in Nepal. This national park is the biggest national park in Nepal which is home to many rare birds and animals. We also get a chance to see mesmerizing mountain views with natural landscapes.
Transportation for Island Peak Climbing without EBC
For the Everest region, there is only one mode of transportation in which you have to take a flight to start trekking or another adventurous thing on this route. Nowadays, you will not directly fly toward Lukla because of some reason. First of all, we will drive toward Manthali, and from Manthali, we will fly toward Lukla. You can also start trekking from Manthali but it takes a lot of time to complete this trekking so taking a flight is the best option for this region. At some of the places on this route, we will get a chance to take a ride as a mode of transportation.
How difficult is Island Peak Climbing without EBC?
Island peak climbing is a moderately challenging peak climbing in Nepal. It is one of the most challenging treks of the Everest region and crossing this pass trek is the biggest challenge during this trek. Some of the difficulties, you have to face during this peak climbing are the length of the trek, high altitude, altitude sickness, weather and climate, and many more. The difficulty level of this trek is a little bit difficult and you must prepare yourself mentally to complete this peak climbing. This peak climbing is a unique landscape with a lot of people doing this trek and the steep stone terraces and snowy slopes.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you can relax or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening, there will be a briefing about the Island Peak expedition, equipment check, and introduction to the climbing team.
Today we explore some of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Meanwhile, our team will finalize expedition permits and logistics. In the evening, we prepare climbing gear for the journey.
A scenic mountain flight takes us to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After meeting the porters and guides, we begin trekking through beautiful Sherpa villages and lush forests along the Dudh Koshi River until reaching Phakding.
We continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges including the famous Hillary Bridge. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, the trail climbs steadily to Namche Bazaar, the main trading hub of the Everest region.
To adapt to the altitude, we spend a rest day in Namche Bazaar. You can hike to Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse, or visit the Sherpa Culture Museum.
The trail follows scenic ridges with spectacular mountain views before descending to the Dudh Koshi River and climbing through rhododendron forests to Tengboche. Here we visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region.
We trek through alpine landscapes and small Sherpa settlements like Pangboche. The trail gradually climbs toward Dingboche, a beautiful village surrounded by stone walls and stunning Himalayan scenery.
Today we take another acclimatization hike to nearby ridges for incredible views of Makalu, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak. This helps our bodies adapt to the increasing altitude.
A short trek takes us to Chhukung, a small settlement surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks. This is the last major stop before heading toward Island Peak Base Camp.
The trail climbs through rocky glacial terrain to reach Island Peak Base Camp. Here the climbing guide provides training on using climbing equipment such as crampons, ice axes, and fixed ropes.
We start climbing early in the morning. The route includes glacier travel, steep snow slopes, and a narrow summit ridge. After reaching the summit and enjoying incredible views of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, we descend back to Chhukung.
We retrace our route back through Dingboche and continue to Pangboche village, enjoying beautiful mountain scenery along the way.
Descending through rhododendron forests and Sherpa villages, we return to the lively town of Namche Bazaar.
The final trekking day follows the Dudh Koshi River back to Lukla. In the evening, we celebrate the successful expedition with the trekking crew.
A scenic flight brings us back to Kathmandu where you can relax or explore the city.
