Upper Dolpo Trek is a high-altitude culturally Tibetan region in the western Himalaya of Nepal. The area is famous for the rarely found animals as the snow leopard and blue sheep. This trekking route is situated in the western part of the country and it is one of the most remote Trekkings in Nepal. The region is rich in ethnic Tibetan culture and arts. The legendary hidden land closed for years to trekkers. Trekking this region get ahead of various technical high passes and the steep trail through the forest with the scenery of the waterfalls. The people that live here number only a few hundred and are among the world’s highest dwellers. It offers rare opportunities to explore many unseen parts of the region. It is here specifically that people still practice the pre-Buddhist Bon Po religion. It is now only possible to enter Dolpo through an expensive and restricted area permit.
Upper Dolpo Trek starts from with tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu and then we will dive to Nepalgunj after a short flight from Juphal. This trail goes through the Phoksundo national park, covering the striking valleys monasteries and the landscape. The view opens up dramatically looking east towards the snow peaks of the Kanjiroba and majestic Dhaulagiri range. The trekkers of these regions are enthused greatly about the wild remoteness. Upper Dolpo Trek indeed takes us into the wild west of Nepal. This trekking route is highly restricted so we have needed a special trekking permit to enter this route. The best time for having trekking in this region from August to November and March to July. While the trekking we will pass through the interesting villages, trekking route and meet awesome people.
