Makalu Base Camp Trek offers one of the most outstanding diverse trekking routes in the Himalayan. The area contains some of the richest and the most diverse pockets of plants and animals in Nepal. It is one of the 5th tallest mountains of the world which lies in the eastern part of Nepal. Makalu Base Camp Trek visit one of the remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal. The route lies in the area of Makalu Barun national park and Conservation Area in the heart of Eastern Nepal. It has played an important part in mountaineering history itself. The region provides striking contrasts, with high waterfalls cascading into deep gorges, craggy rocks rising from lush green forests, and colorful flowers blossoming beneath white snow peaks. They hold the key to the preservation of the unique biological and cultural treasure of the Makalu Barun area. This is camping trek that will bring you to the untamed loveliness of Nepal. Makalu Base Camp Trek is one of the challenging an outstanding trekking of Nepal. The trekking trails start at Khandbari. The physical aspect of the trip can be quite demanding, particularly because of the lack of facilities and only advisable for the traveler. The part due to the remoteness of the region has been successful at preserving the regions distinctive culture, flora and fauna. In this route, we get an opportunity to see more than 3000 species of the flower plants, with hundreds of orchid verities, 48 Primroses and 25 of Nepal’s 30 rhododendrons splash the hillsides with color. The trekking is another popular trekking destination of Nepal. Mainly we can see the Sherpa, Tamang, and Gurung ethnical group people are staying in this region. The best season for doing this trekking is from March to June and September to December.

Day 04: Trek from Khadbari to Chichila (1,800m)
Day 05: Trek from Chichile to Num (1,500m)
Day 06: Trek Num to Seduwa (1,493m)
Day 07: Trek Seduwa to Tashi Gaon (2,200m)
Day 08: Trek Tashi Gaun to Kahuma Danda (3,500m)
Day 09: Trek Kahuma Danda to Mumbuk (3,400m)
Day 10: Trek Mumbuk to Nehe Kharka (3,750m)
Day 11: Trek from Nehe Kharka to Sherson (4,600m)
Day 12: Free day at Sherson for a day excursion
Day 13: Trek Sherson to Yangri Kharka (3,645m)
Day 14: Trek from Yangri Kharka to Mumbuk (3,400m)
Day 15: Trek from Mumbuk to Kahuma Danda (3,500m)
Day 16: Trek from Kahuma Danda to Navagaun (2,500m) via Tashi Gaun
Day 17: Trek from Navagaun to Num via Seduwa
Day 18: Trek from Num to Chichile (1,800m)
Day 19: Trek from Chichile to Khadbari
Day 20: Trek from Khadbari to Tumlingtar (400m)
Day 21: Fly from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu
Day 23: Final International Departure

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu       

A delegate will be meet you at the arrival gate of Tribhuwan international airport then you will transfer to the hotel which you have chosen for relax and freshen up. In the evening we will have our welcome dinner with you and your trekking guide. 

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

The second day of our trekking we will be taken for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley after having breakfast. In this day we will visit center of pilgrimage Pashupatinath temple and Swaymbunath which are enlisted in UNESCO world heritage sites. After sightseeing we come back to hotel.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar then drive to Chichira

After having breakfast early in the morning we will take flight to Tumlingtar after spending one night in Kathmandu valley. After reach in the tumlingtar we will slowly start our trekking towards Chichira and spend one night in this place.

Day 04: Chichira to Num

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Num village after spending one night in Chichira. It takes almost 6 to 7 to reach Num from Chichira which lies at the height 1560 meter from the sea level and we will spend one night in the Num village.   

Day 05: Num to Seduwa

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Seduwa after spending one night in the Num village. During the time of this day trek we will pass through forest and terraced farms takes us to Barun River which takes almost 6 to 7 hours to reach Seduwa from Num and spend one night in Seduwa.      

Day 06: Seduwa to Tashigaon

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Tashigaon village after spending one night in Seduwa. We will cross the hillside through quiet villages and passing by small paddy field which takes almost 4 to 5 hours to reach Tashigaon from Seduwa and we will spend one night in Tashigaon.    

Day 07: Tashigaon to Khongma Danda

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Khongma Danda after spending one night in Tashigaon. It takes almost 6 to 7 hours to reach Khongma Danda from Tashigaon which lies at the height of 3500 meter from the sea level and spend one night in Khongma danda.    

Day 08: Acclimatization/Rest

This day we don’t start our trekking because this day is for rest. After having lunch we will go to explore Khongma Danda and spend one night in this place.

Day 09: Khongma Danda to Dobate

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Dobate after spending one night in Khongma Danda. It takes almost 6 to 7 hours to reach Dobate from Khongma Danda and we will spend one night in dobate.

Day 10: Dobate to Yangri Kharka

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Yangri kharka after spending one night in Dobate. During this day trek we will pass through the lush forest of rhododendron and we will walk until we reach Yangri Kharka and spend one night in this village.

Day 11: Yangri Kharka to Langmale Kharka

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Langmale Kharka after spending one night in the Yangri Kharka. We pass through the lush forest, Yak pasture and boulder fields. It takes almost 5 to 6 hours to reach Lngmale Kharka from Yangri Kharka and we will spend one night in this place.    

Day 12: Langmale Kharka to Makalu Base Camp

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Makalu base camp after spending one night in Langmale Kharka. It takes almost 6 to 7 hours to reach Makalu base camp from Langmale Kharka which lies at the height 4870 meter from the sea level and spend one night in this place.   

Day 13: Explore Makalu Base Camp

This day we don’t start our trekking because this day is for rest. In this day we will explore the surrounding lake, Glacier and go for a short of trek up this camp and back to the tea house and spend one night in this base camp.

Day 14: Makalu Base Camp to Yangri Kharka

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking come back towards Yangri Kharka after spending one night in Makalu base camp. It takes almost 6 to 7 hours to reach Yangri Kharka from Makalu base camp which lies at the height 3557 meter from the sea level and we will spend one night in this village.    

Day 15: Yangri Kharka to Dobate

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Dobate after spending one night in Yangri kharka. The route goes through the forest and valley until we reach in Dobate which takes almost 6 to 7 hour to reach our destination and we will spend on night in this valley. 

Day 16: Dobate to Khongma Danda

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Khongma Danda after spending one night in Dobate. We will pass through a forest of rhododendron and fire. It takes almost 5 to 6 hours to reach Khongma Danda from Dobate and we will spend one night in this valley.     

Day 17: Khongma Danda to Tashigaon

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Tashigaon after spending one night in Khongma Danda. It takes almost 4 to 5 hours to reach Tashigaon which is Sherpa village from Khongma Danda and spend one night in this village.   

Day 18: Tashigaon to Seduwa

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Seduwa after spending one night in Tashigaon. It takes almost 4 to 5 hours to reach Seduwa from Tashigaon and we will spend one night in this valley.   

Day 19: Seduwa to Num

After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Num village after spending one night in Seduwa. The trail goes up and down and passes through the dense forest and spends one night in this village.  

Day 20: Num to Tumlingtar

After having breakfast we will start our trekking come downward to the Tumlingtar after spending one night in the Num. It takes almost 6 to 7 hours to reach Tumlingtar from the Num which is at the height 2850 meter from the sea level and spend overnight in Tumlingtar.   

Day 21: Tumlingtar to Kathmandu

We will come back to Kathmandu valley by flying from the Tumlingtar airport by the 50 minutes from Tumlingtar. After reaching in the Kathmandu valley you will transfer to the hotel and take some rest and evening walk in the Thamel bazaar.   

Day 22: Final departure

We will proudly drop you to the airport to catch your flight back to your home.

Sleeping

  • Tent (necessary for treks with camping)
  • Sleeping bag (–15° bag will suffice on most treks)*

  • Head lamp with extra batteries
  • Reading materials (Kindle may be best)

  • Day pack (for your rain jacket, snacks, camera, etc.)

  • Gators (many people wear them but they are not mandatory)

Manual Note

According to actual official Itinerary and cost if any thing will adding date or staff, or condition bad weather take helicopter, Rescue about these thing the price will be adding.
