Overview
Kanchenjunga Expedition is the most easterly of the great 8000 meter peaks of the Himalaya of Nepal. It is a third highest mountain in the world and the second highest mountain in Nepal. This expedition is located in the eastern part of Nepal in the Khumbu region. While trekking to its base camp which one can be view the richest biodiversity, lush landscape, tropical jungle of Rhododendron, oak and chestnuts, alpine forest, the range of flora and fauna etc. Kanchenjunga Expedition is the giant peak and numerous satellite peaks mount from its slim ice crests which are situated at the border of Nepal and Sikkim. The expedition was first climbed by a British team in 1956. It is a beautiful mountain visible from many places with a famous view from tiger hill in Darjeeling. The expedition is one of the most challenging expeditions of Nepal. Trekking to its base camp itself treats travelers with the less crowded path with the unique sight of rural Nepalese lifestyle of the eastern region of Nepal.
Kanchenjunga Expedition follows one of the popular off the beaten path trek of Nepal. This is one of the extremely pleasing climbs for the professional hikers. The climb is technical, even along the normal route but it is extremely interesting to climb. Kanchenjunga Expedition starts from Taplejung and passes through villages of Rai and Limbu aboriginal community, fields, terraced farmlands and Rhododendron forest. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu TIA and transfer to hotel
Day 02-03: In Kathmandu preparation for Kanchenjunga Expeditions with the optional tour.
Day 04: Fly to Biratnagar with overnight around south-east Nepal low land.
Day 05: Fly to Sukhetar / Taplejung trek to Lali Kharka 1,900m – 04 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Khesewa Bhanjyang 2,100m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Mamangkhe 2,030 m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Yangphudin 2,150m – 06 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Chitre 2,880 m – 06hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Simbua Khola 3,000 m – 07 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Tseram 3,770m – 05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Ramche 4,360m via Lapsang – 06 hrs.
Day 13: Rest day at Ramche for acclimatization and hike to south base camp.
Day 14: Trek back to Tseram – 05 hrs.
Day 15: Trek to near Tamo la 4,300 m – 05 hrs.
Day 16: Trek to Ghunsa, 3, 480 m – 06 hrs.
Day 17: Trek to Kangbachen 4,000 m – 05 hrs.
Day 18: Trek to Lhonak 4,780 m – 05 hrs.
Day 19: Trek to Kanchenjunga North base camp at Pang Pema 5,143 m – 04 hrs.
Day 20: Rest day at Base Camp for local exploration.
Day 21: Trek and climb to Advance Camp 5,836 m.
Day 22-41: (20 days) Expeditions and ascent to the summit.
Day 42: Return to base camp.
Day 43: Clean up of the Base Camp.
Day 44: Trek to Kangbachen 3,900m – 06 hrs.
Day 45: Trek to Phole 3,100 m – 05 hrs.
Day 46: Trek to Amjilassa 2, 500 m – 07 hrs.
Day 47: Trek to Tapethok 1, 300 m – 06 hrs.
Day 48: Trek to Mitlung 1,550 m – 06 hrs.
Day 49: Trek to Suketar 2,440 m – 06 hrs.
Day 50: Fly to Kathmandu via Biratnagar and transfer to hotel.
Day 51-52: In Kathmandu to submit expedition’s

Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
A delegate will be meet you at the arrival gate of Tribhuwan international airport then you will transfer to the hotel which you have chosen for relax and freshen up. In the evening we will have our welcome dinner with you and your trekking guide.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
The second day of our trekking we will be taken for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley after having breakfast. In this day we will visit center of pilgrimage Pashupatinath temple and Swaymbunath which are enlisted in UNESCO world heritage sites. After sightseeing we come back to hotel.
Day03: Kathmandu to Biratnagar
After having breakfast in the morning we get early morning flight Biratnagar which lies in the eastern region of Nepal. After reach in the Biratnagar we will went to explore Biratnagar city and spend one night in this city.
Day04: Biratnagar to Taplejung
After having breakfast in the morning we get early morning flight Taplejung which lies in the eastern region of Nepal. after reach in the Taplejung we will went to explore this valley and come back to the hotel and spend one night in this place.
Day05: Trek to Mitlung
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Mitlung village after spending one night in the Taplejung. It lies at the height of 880 meter from the sea level from the sea level and we will spend one night in this village.
Day06: Trek to Chirwa
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Chirwa Village after spending one night in the Mitlung. While doing trekking in this route we will pass through the Tawa village and keep walking until we don’t reach in Chirwa where we will spend one night.
Day07: Trek to Sukhatum
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Sukhatum after spending one night in the Chirwa. It lies at the height of 1640 meter from the sea level and keep wakling until we reach in the Sukhatum and we will spend one night in this village.
Day08: Trek to Amjilosa
After having breakfast in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Amjilosa village after spending one night in Sukhatum. It is at the height of 2308 meter from the sea level and we will spend one night in the Amjilosa village.
Day09: Trek to Gyabla
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Gyabla after spending one night in the Amjilosa. We will pass through the lush forest of Bamboo, Fir and rhododendron trees and keep walking until we don’t reach in the Gyable village and spend one night in this village.
Day10: Trek to Ghunsa
After having breakfast in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Ghunsa after spending one night in Gyabla. During the time of this day trekking we pass through the lush forest of rhododendron, brich and pine forest before reaching Ghunsa and spend one night in this village.
Day11: Trek to Khambachen
After having breakfast in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Khambachen after spending one night in the Ghunsa village. We pass through beautiful wildflower, and cross the rhododendron and pine forest. After reaching in Khambachen village we will spend one night in this village.
Day12: Trek to Lhonak
After having breakfat in the morning we will slowly start our journey towards Lhonak village after spending one night in the Kambachen. During the time of this day trek we have to pass through at steady place before descending to the river until we reach in Lhonak and spend one night in this village.
Day13: Trek to Pang Pema
After having breakfast in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Pangpema village after spending one night in the Lhonak. It lies at the height of 5140 meter from the sea level and we will spend one night in the Pang pema.
Day14: Trek to Kanchenjunga Base Camp
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Kanchenjunga Base Camp after spending one night in the Pang pema. On the route we will enjoy the wonderful views of the mountain of Nepal and spend one night in the Kanchenjunga Base Camp.
Day15: Climbing preparation at Kanchenjunga Base Camp
Today we don’t start our trekking because today is for rest and preparation day for the climbing at Kanchenjunga Base Camp. At the day time we will went to explore all around the base camp and come back towards the Camp and spend one night in the camp.
Day16-36: Climbing period of Kanchenjunga
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking to climbing up to the Mt Kanchenjunga after spending one night in the base camp. We will spend 20 days to climb Mt Kanchenjunga and we will back towards Kanchenjunga base camp and spend one night in this base camp.
Day37: Trek to Pang Pema
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Pang pema after spending one night in the Kanchenjunga Base Camp. It lies at the height of 5140 meter from the sea level and we will spend one night in this Pang pema.
Day38: Trek to Lhonak
After having breakfast in the morning we will slowly start our trekking come back towards Lhonak after spending one night in Pangpema. It is at the height of 4780 meter from the sea level and we will spend one night in Lhonak village.
Day39: Trek to Ghunsa
After having breakfast in the morning we will slowly start our trekking come back towards Ghunsa after spending one night in the Lhonak village. We will pass through the same cliff from where we climbing up and we will spend one night in this village.
Day40: Trek to Sele La
After having breakfast in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Sele La pass after spending one night in Ghunsa. During the time of this day trekking we pass through the lush forest of rhododendron, brich and pine forest before reaching Sele La pass and spend one night in this village.
Day41: Trek to Tseram via Mirginla
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Tserama by using the route of Mirginla after spending one night Sele la pass. It lies at the height of the 3870 meter from the sea level and we will spend one night in the Tseram village.
Day42: Trek to Oktang and Tortong
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Oktang village after spending one night in the tseram. After reaching in the Oktang we will slowly start our trekking towards Tortong and keep walking until we don’t reach in the Tortong and spend one night in this village.
Day43: Trek to Amji Khola
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Amji Khola after spending one night in the Tortang. It lies at the height of the 2340 meter from the sea level and we will spend one night in the Amji Khola.
Day44: Trek to Mamanke
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Mamanke after spending one night in the Amji Khola. We will cross through the forest and crop field where we have to walk 4 hours to reach Mamanke from Amji Khola and spend one night in this village.
Day45: Trek to Bhanjyang
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Bhanjyang after spending one night in the Mamanke. While doing trekking in this route we get an opportunity to see the culture and tradition of this region people and spend one night in this place.
Day46: Trek to Lalikharka
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards lalikharka after spending one night in the Bhanjyang. It lies at the height of 2220 meter from the sea level and spend one night in the Lalikharka village.
Day47: Trek to Suketar
After having breakfast in the morning we will slowly start our trekking towards Suketar village after spending one night in Lalikharka. We pass through the many beautiful villages of this route during the time of this day trek and we will spend overnight in this village.
Day48: Suketar to Kathmandu
After having breakfast in the morning we take early flight towards Kathmandu after spending one night in the Suketar. After reach in Kathmandu first we checkout the hotel and get some rest and in the evening time we explore the thamel bazaar.
Day49: Final Departure
We will proudly drop you to the airport to catch your flight back to your home.
